Paarhammer featured on Small Business Secrets - SBS

An exciting day of filming wrapped up last week here at the Paarhammer facility for an upcoming episode of ‘Small Business Secrets’ to air on SBS. Small Business Secrets focuses on the stories of migrant entrepreneurs who have turned their business dreams into reality.

It all started out of necessity when Tony and Edith were planning to build their own house here in Victoria and were unable to find high performing European style windows and doors similar to those in Austria where they had grown up. From there the dream of helping others to live in a comfortable house with very low energy bills was born.

Celebrating 30 years in business in April 2020, Paarhammer has received a number of awards during this time, notably ‘Manufacturer of the Year – Small Business’ awarded by the State Government of Victoria. Recognition for the innovation of Bushfire Safe windows and doors that are compliant for all BAL levels, including BAL-FZ without the need for shutters, was also a vital development in the growth of the business. The bushfire products were an extension of, and compliment, the highly energy efficient windows and doors that Paarhammer has manufactured in Australia since 1990.

The experienced and professional SBS crew, comprising of journalist Sarah and cameraman Scott, created a relaxed atmosphere and set everyone at ease. They interviewed Tony and Edith Paarhammer and spent time with individual staff taking footage of machines in action and craftsmanship at work.

After filming at the Paarhammer factory and showroom they also visited a nearby client who generously agreed to be interviewed and have his house filmed to complete the story.
