A more comfortable indoor environment, more security and more energy-efficiency to save on heating and cooling, are some of the expectations of modern windows. While tilt & turn windows and lift-slide sliding doors have been common in Europe for decades, these opening types are fast becoming a much-loved part of Australian homes.Frame MaterialsTimber is very much in demand for its biophilic and health properties and its natural look. Timber also re-grows, hence it is a sustainable material that provides strength when manufactured into European style window and door frames. Handles create a focal point that catches the eye and at the same time have a crucial function to open, tilt or close windows and doors. Handles have come a long way. While up to about 10 years ago window handles were only available in one style and in the very limited colours of silver or white, modern handles can now make aBAU Expo Munich

The new National Construction Code (NCC) which came into effect on the 1st of May 2023 (start date has to be adopted by each State and Territory) includes higher energy efficiency regulations and provisions for dwellings to better meet community needs including for the elderly or those with mobility limitations. Paarhammer products meet and exceed these new regulations. Today we look at new dwelling access regulations: Clear OpeningAccess to dwellings now require entrance doors (or 1 universal access point/door) with a clear opening of a minimum of 820mm, not including the frame or door leave. Windows are exposed to a variety of environmental influences such as dust, soot, pollen, UV radiation, rain, heat and cold, but high-quality products are durable and relatively easy to look after. To benefit from the longest possible service life, it is important to regularly care for your new windows and doors right from the start so that the desired appearance and functionality are retained for decades. Many factors and functions make a space: security, comfort, health, aesthetics, sustainability, energy efficiency and much more. But the focus is always on people. Windows are part of what makes spaces become alive and people feel comfortable in them. Living spaces. The TITAN hardware by Siegenia (Germany) is a new comfort element in Paarhammer windows. It includes a mechanical closure support that makes it easier to close the window, particularly in the case of large and heavy sashes. The additional comfort stay reduces the amount of effort required to close the sash from the tilt position due to integrated cushioning.New barrier-free door threshold

External hinged doors with a level threshold that stop drafts would be the ideal in many situations. No door draft stoppers - or fabric door snakes - just a perfect level seal to keep out drafts, noise and water. This is now possible with the new patented barrier-free magnetic threshold by Alumat-Frey GmbH, Germany. How does the barrier free door threshold work? When the door is closed, 2 double seals with silicone contact in the threshold are automatically attracted to the 2 magnetic strips at the bottom of the door. The seals come up from the level threshold, meet theBi-fold Doors to open up your house

If you are lucky enough to build near the coast, there are a few things to consider, e.g. do all your building materials stand up to strong winds bringing salt and sand to your front door? Higher levels of alkaline, moisture, salt and corrosive deposits can significantly affect the performance and lifespan of windows and doors. The combination of salt, humidity and wind eat away at all unprepared materials.
